jheath asked: Does Eagle deice configured for takeoff? I thought everyone had adopted the new policy of flaps and slats up on the pad.

Usually we spray with slats and flaps up, but if the plane has been sitting for a while or the Chicago DOA hasn’t been doing a good job of keeping the taxiways clear, they will be lowered and we will spray off any excess accumulation before starting the usual procedure. 

Then again, the choice is entirely up to the captain. There are times where they are fully extended and the crew wants Type IV with it being 33 degrees and sunny.
